Have you guys heard of Hello Mellow? I hadn't until recently, but their bright, fun packaging immediately grabbed my attention. It was their safe and simple ingredients that held it, and I was thrilled to receive several samples in the mail for review. Today I'll be sharing my thoughts on the two body oils I tried: Revitalize and Rejuvenate. Ingredients (provided at hellomellow.com)- Revitalize: avocado butter, mango butter, essential oils of geranium and...

Link to Persephenie Neroli Infusion Organic Body Oil Review

After a friend of mine recently sent me a link to Persephenie's site, I became smitten with the lovely packaging and stellar ingredients. Taking the next logical step, I emailed the company requesting a few samples. To my delight, they gladly obliged. Lucky me! Ingredients (provided at persephenie.com)- "Certified Organic Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis), infused Neroli Flowers (Citrus aurantium var. amara) in Organic Marula Oil (Sclerocarya birrea), Coconut Oil (Cocus nucifera), and a combination of botanical essential oils and absolutes." The preliminary report that I created...

Link to This Works: Stretch Mark Oil Review

Remember the treats that I talked about in one of my recent posts? Well, I decided that it was time to review one of the health and beauty related products from that post. This Works: Stretch Mark Oil is kind of rocking my world right now. Before I get to the reviewing business, I should probably make it known that I've never used stretch mark oils or vitamin E oils as directed. Most directions suggest using these oils five or six times a day to achieve optimal results. My few lingering stretch marks left over from puberty don't...

Glass bottles make me smile.

Link to Glass bottles make me smile.

I'm just gonna go ahead and warn everyone: this post is about to be a link fest. The pretty glass bottle that my Burt's Bees Vitamin E Body & Bath Oil came in has inspired me to buy more glass bottles for storing homemade health and beauty products. My friend Chuck told me about two really neat websites where I can find glass bottles for next to nothing (SKS Bottle & Packaging, Inc.Sunburst Bottle Company), and I'm pretty pumped about it. The first two projects that I plan to fill some bottles...

Linalool, friend or foe?

Link to Linalool, friend or foe?

photo credit: miltedflower I mentioned linalool in my recent post about perfume, but I didn't really expound upon why it should be avoided because I hadn't done much research at that point (aside from the articles that I linked to in the post).  My curiosity was stirred once again while reading the ingredients to Danielle's seemingly harmless body oil.  Upon seeing the ingredient "linalool" listed, I immediately did some research. Linalool earns a hazard...

Today was a day for buying things.

Link to Today was a day for buying things.

I ran some errands with my sister today and ended up making a few purchases. Burt's Bees Herbal Insect Repellent- I've been meaning to try this for a while now.  I always forget about until I'm at a cookout and the only stuff available is Off!  I usually just suck it up and let the bugs bite me. Living Foods Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil- This is a definite upgrade from the jar that I just finished (which had a picture of shrimp on the label, and was found tucked between the olive and vegetable oils in Walmart).

I need them in my life.

Link to I need them in my life.

I rarely make a long-term commitment to any health and beauty product, but those listed below have a special place in my heart and in my beauty regimen. 1. Desert Essence tea tree oil mouthwash- Let's get real, natural toothpastes don't actually do much for bad breath.  Flossing and brushing are great for making my teeth look clean, but mouthwash is where it's at if I want to talk close to someone's face (and I do).  I love the way this stuff tastes, and it makes my breath downright pleasant. 2. Spring Valley tea tree oil (that walmart jurnt)- Can you tell...
