I’m a big fan of hot teas. While grocery shopping, I tend to  find myself on the tea aisle picking out two or three new flavors (which is ridiculous, considering the overwhelming amount of tea that I already have at home).  Last night, I discovered something delcious; I cannot keep it to myself.

I mixed

and some honey.

The result was something wonderful. It tasted a little  like a liquid fruit roll-up.

I scoff at insomnia.

These help me sleep.

Melatonin Pills

1) Melatonin- I take one 3 mg pill of these bad boys about thirty minutes before I get in the bed. Since melatonin is a hormone that the body (more specificially, the brain) already makes, I don’t feel guilty about taking them to help me sleep. Word to the wise, do not take these unless you plan on getting eight or more hours of sleep: any less and you will feel hung-the-hell-over. Also, in most situations I opt for the natural version when given the choice between natural or synthetic, but when it comes to melatonin it’s probably safest to go with the man-made ones. Natural is made from the pineal gland of animals, and there is always a risk (albeit small) of the pills being contaminated with a virus.

Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Extra

2) Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Extra Wellness Tea- Not only does is it delicious with honey, but the valerian root in it makes me sleepy-sleepy. If you’ve tried regular Sleepytime tea and had no results, then you should definitely give this guy a chance. I was not pleased with the original either.

Badger Balm Sleep Balm

Badger Sleep Balm

3) Badger Sleep Balm-  This stuff has only a few ingredients, and guess what? I recognize and can pronounce all of them! The scent is lovely. I like to rub it on Turby’s temples before bed so I can smell it when we cuddle (psh, and he thinks I am just being sweet.)
