Don’t let the size and shape of W3ll People’s Nudist Supernatural Lipshine Stick fool you. It might look like a chapstick, but its moisturizing properties are just the tip of the iceberg.

Ingredients (provided at w3llpeople.com.com)- “OG Castor Oil infused with OG Bayberry*, OG Green Tea**, OG Calendula flowers*, OG Mallow Sylvestris*, & OG Rosehips*; Brassica Campestris/Aleurites Fordii Oil Coplymer, Beeswax, Castor Isostearate Beeswax Succinate***, Essential Oils, Pomegranate Extract, Tocopherol (natural Vitamin E), L-Lysine, Stevia Leaf Extract, [+/-: Carmine (CI?), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77499), Mica (CI 77019), Manganese Violet (CI 77742)]”

This product receives a low hazard score of 1 in the Cosmetics Database. There are no ingredients with hazard scores above a 2.

Some great things about this product:

1. It’s free of parabens, petrochemicals, glycols, silicones, and talc.

2. It’s made with organic ingredients.

3. It’s cruelty-free.

Product Description(provided at w3llpeople.com)- “Gives lips the perfect boost of color and shine, with sheer minerals and therapeutic pomegranate and reishi mushroom”

Price- $23 for a .18 oz tube.

Performance- When I saw the shape and size of my tube of Nudist Lip Shine, I assumed it would be akin to chapstick. However, the texture, shine and color of this product are much more reminiscent of a subtle, moisturizing lipstick (which makes the price of this product much more reasonable). The shade (#1) is a rosy pink that’s pretty by itself but also compliments the Universalist Multi-Use Color Stick beautifully, and I’m wearing both in the picture below.

Scent- woodsy, dreamy.

Rating-10/10!

After loving and subsequently reviewing Alima Pure’s Rainforest Collection, I knew I needed to try more Alima Pure products. So when they recently sent me four shades of their brand new organic Nourishing Lipbalm, I was both surprised and delighted. Sometimes I feel like the luckiest girl around!

Ingredients (provided on product packaging)- Organic Sweet Almond Oil, Organic Castor Seed Oil, Organic Shea Butter Fruit, Organic Beeswax, Organic Safflower Seed Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic White Tea Extract, Organic Cocoa Seed Butter, Organic Pomegranate Seed Oil, Organic Jojoba Seed Oil, Organic Peppermint Essential Oil, Organic Pomegranate Extract, Tocopherol. May Contain: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide.

The Cosmetic Safety Database does contain an Alima Pure Nourishing Lipbalm, but the ingredients appear to be those prior to reformulation. For this reason, I’ve linked to each ingredient in the new lipbalm above. I’m guessing the overall hazard score of the reformulated lipbalm would be a 1 or a 2, because there is only one ingredient with a hazard score above a 2 (mica, with a hazard score of 3).

Some great things about this product:

1. It’s free of parabens & synthetic fragrances.

2. It’s cruelty-free.

3. It contains organic ingredients.

4. The small cardboard box that holds the tube and lists the ingredients is made from 100% recycled fiber (and 30% PCW).

Product Description/Product Features (provided with product packaging)-

Beautiful new tube design

All shades sold in beautiful new box with printed ingredients

All non-mineral ingredients are from certified organic sources

Intense color

Perfect, mild peppermint scent

Smooth and nourishing

Contains white tea and pomegranate

Price- $7.00 for a .07 oz. tube.

Performance- I mentioned in a recent review that some lip balms are meant for fancier occasions and others for more casual affairs. I’d feel entirely comfortable wearing any of these lip balms to a party or a wedding, even the Natural one, which has no tint but is still glossy enough to be pretty. They all make my lips feel so soft and dreamy, and their moisturizing properties last long after the balm wears off. I honestly love all of the shades, but I’d probably choose Holly Berry if I had to pick a favorite. I prefer the way Fig looks to the other shades when blotted (which is how I’m wearing it in the very last picture), but as far as untouched shades go… Holly Berry might be the best. They definitely all have their place, though, and I’m sure I’ll wear each as often as the next. Natural is the most practical, Rhubarb is the sweetest, Holly Berry is the prettiest, and Fig feels the most mature. I apologize for the ridiculous amount of pictures below, but it seemed important to show how each shade looked in both natural and artificial light. I ordered the pictures from the lightest to darkest tinted balm, so below you’ll find pictures of me wearing Natural, Rhubarb, Holly Berry, and Fig both inside and outside and in that order. In case I made that confusing, I’ve also put the name of each shade underneath the pictures.

Fig inside & outside (the latter is after a little blotting, outfit changing, and hair straightening.

Scent- It smells/feels/tastes minty, but not overwhelmingly so. I’m a fan!

Rating-I’m rating these lip balms collectively because I love them pretty much equally, so 9/10 it is for each of them! I subtracted 1 point for the ingredient with a hazard score above a 2.

Would I purchase this item again? I absolutely will, but I won’t have to worry about that in the very near future. I have four whole tubes to use!

You can purchase your own tube of Alima Pure Nourishing Lipbalm from the Alima Pure website when the final product is unveiled in May!

As my product reviews have become more in depth, I’ve grown accustomed to reviewing a single product at a time. I find it’s easier to be thorough this way. However, after trying my two new Made From Earth Lip Balms, I decided to review them together. They’re so similar in performance, ingredients and price that it just made sense.

Ingredients (provided at madefromearth.com)-

Citrus Fresh Lip Balm- “Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Essential Oils of Orange, Lemon and Lime, Vitamin E, Rosemary Extract, Organic Calendula.”

Vanilla Lip Balm- “Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Beeswax, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Vanilla Essential Oil, Vitamin E, Rosemary Extract, Organic Calendula.”

I couldn’t locate these products in the Cosmetic Safety Database, but the short lists of familiar ingredients did a fine job of speaking for themselves. Still, I’ve linked to the individual ingredients above. Unsurprisingly, none of the ingredients have hazard scores above a 2. Since these products are meant for my lips and will inevitably wind up in my stomach at some point, ingredients with low hazard scores are especially important.

Some great things about these products:

1. They’re free of parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, and synthetic coloring agents.

2. They’re cruelty-free.

3. They contain organic ingredients.

Product Descriptions(also provided at madefromearth.com)-

Citrus Fresh Lip Balm: “Citrus Fresh tastes like a delicious mix of lemons, limes and fresh squeezed oranges. This organic and chemical free lip balm contains vitamin-rich sunflower seed oil and protecting beeswax to avoid a chapped lip texture to aid the production of collagen in the lips, with the sweet taste of oranges. Citrus fruits have been proven to have detoxification properties due to the high concentration of vitamin C. In topical form, they can help to alleviate skin problems, and when used on a regular basis, protect the skin from sun damage and aging.”

Vanilla Lip Balm: “Warm. Calm. Relaxing. Organic ingredients with vanilla designed to soothe and calm your lips. For all vanilla lovers, welcome home.”

Price- $3.99 for each 0.15 oz. tube

Performance- These lip balms are both great; they moisturize my lips for hours at a time. While they don’t provide any tint or gloss (and I shouldn’t expect that of them since they’re not tinted or a lip gloss), they still leave my lips feeling soft and looking healthy. I probably wouldn’t wear this lip balm if I were trying to look fancy, but it’d be perfect to wear to bed, around the house, or while working out…I guess it’s comparable to sweatpants: comfy, great and necessary but not appropriate for all occasions.

Scent- The Citrus fresh lip balm smells a little like Mountain Dew and a lot like lemon/lime. When I mentioned wearing these lip balms while working out, I had this one in mind. It’s so fresh and bright and seems like an appropriately active scent. The Vanilla lip balm is a more warm and relaxing scent. I’ve worn it to bed several times and can totally see myself wearing it while napping on the beach.

Rating- Each lip balm earns a rating of 8/10. I’m subtracting 2 points from each because I wouldn’t hate something slightly more versatile (maybe something with just a little tint), but the ingredients and price are both ideal.

Would I purchase these items again? Sure! I’d also really like to try the Blueberry and Spearmint Lip Balms.

My lips were feeling kinda crusty (probably from me being in the sun and putting tea tree oil on them when I had that spot of poison ivy), so I used the same local honey that I’ve been using to sweeten my Perfectly Pear Tea to scrub my lips. The honey was/is beginning to crystallize, so I figured that it would exfoliate well..and it did! I coated my lips in the honey and scrubbed it off with a warm, wet bath cloth. Afterwards, I dabbed a little coconut oil on my lips. They feel almost unbelievably soft, and I’m into it.

I rarely make a long-term commitment to any health and beauty product, but those listed below have a special place in my heart and in my beauty regimen.

Desert Essence tea tree oil mouthwash

1. Desert Essence tea tree oil mouthwash- Let’s get real, natural toothpastes don’t actually do much for bad breath. Flossing and brushing are great for making my teeth look clean, but mouthwash is where it’s at if I want to talk close to someone’s face (and I do). I love the way this stuff tastes, and it makes my breath downright pleasant.

Spring Valley tea tree oil

2. Spring Valley tea tree oil (that walmart jurnt)- Can you tell that I’m a big fan of tea tree oil? Tea tree oil, when applied a few times a day, makes my blemishes go away in half the time. I stopped using it for a while because I wanted to see if something like Clean & Clear Persa-Gel 10 would work just as well, but I quickly realized that tea tree oil was far superior. Kirby hates the way it smells, but I do what I want. Also, I find the licorice/hippie scent comforting for some reason. Sometimes I like to call it tree tree oil. That’s how I roll.

Burt's Bees vitamin E body and bath oil

3. Burt’s Bees vitamin E body & bath oil- I love pure vitamin E oil, but this is a lot less sticky and it smells like a yellow starburst. I put it on scars and stretch marks, and it really does make them go away faster. Imagine that!

Yes To Carrots c me smile citrus lip butter

4. Yes To Carrots c me smile citrus lip butter- I never thought I’d stop using vanilla Soft Lips until I tried this guy. I prefer it. I don’t feel the need to reapply as often, and it doesn’t leave that weird lip scum build-up that sometimes happens with Soft Lips. Know what I mean, or am I just gross? Also, I sometimes put this on underneath a few light strokes of the lipstick that I posted about. It looks fancy.

Ojai Lavender natural conditioner

5. Ojai Lavender natural conditioner- I tried using this as a regular conditioner, and it made my hair kinda flat and oily-looking. But then I tried using it before shampooing my hair, and I loved the results. It makes my hair look really shiny, like Pantene Pro-V commercial shiny. btw, I condition my hair again with my usual conditioner after shampooing.
