I’ve recently started carrying a travel-size bottle filled with Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Pure-Castile Soap in my purse. I am no longer faced with either having to wash my hands with anti-bacterial sludge (that contains any number of questionable ingredients) or not washing my hands at all. I should’ve done this months ago; I feel good about life.

Annnnd:

After I find a job and am making money down here in Lake Charles, I’m going to buy all of the containers and necessary ingredients to create and sell my own line of health and beauty products online. I’m keeping a lot of the details under wraps for now, until I get some money and a lot of the kinks worked out. I have a few ideas for appropriate names for the line, but I’d really like your input. Any fun ideas?

I’m just gonna go ahead and warn everyone: this post is about to be a link fest.

The pretty glass bottle that my Burt’s Bees Vitamin E Body & Bath Oil came in has inspired me to buy more glass bottles for storing homemade health and beauty products. My friend Chuck told me about two really neat websites where I can find glass bottles for next to nothing (SKS Bottle & Packaging, Inc. & Sunburst Bottle Company), and I’m pretty pumped about it. The first two projects that I plan to fill some bottles with are this homemade toner and some homemade perfume that I’ll throw together from several recipes that I’ve found. I am going to make the sweetest little labels for the bottles too. So many good posts are on the way. I hope you’re as excited as I am!!

And another thing:

Aside from being pretty, glass bottles are also better for us and the environment. By using plastic containers, we run the risk of exposing ourselves to BPA, which is bad for us for several reasons. I rarely reuse plastic containers because of these concerns, but I almost alway reuse glass. By using glass containers, I’ll produce less waste.
