I stumbled upon this site today, and I cannot wait to take advantage of some of these deals. Vitacost.com has surprisingly low prices on all kinds of natural health and beauty products. The even have food and herbal teas! The products offered actually remind me  a lot of the healthy food section in my favorite Kroger. Whoa...

Dr. Bronner’s has changed my feelings toward public restrooms.

Link to Dr. Bronner’s has changed my feelings toward public restrooms.

I've recently started carrying a travel-size bottle filled with Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Pure-Castile Soap in my purse. I am no longer faced with either having to wash my hands with anti-bacterial sludge (that contains any number of questionable ingredients) or not washing my hands at all. I should've done this months ago; I feel good about life. Annnnd: After I find a job and am making money down here in Lake Charles, I'm going to buy all of the containers and necessary ingredients to create and sell my own line...

Link to Etsy has an abundance of treats!

I need to get a job stat! Otherwise, I'm going to spend all my money on pretty things from Etsy. Here are a few of my favorites (I'm loving yellows and golds right now; can you tell?): I wish that I had a birthday every month. I'm...

Link to This Works: Stretch Mark Oil Review

Remember the treats that I talked about in one of my recent posts? Well, I decided that it was time to review one of the health and beauty related products from that post. This Works: Stretch Mark Oil is kind of rocking my world right now. Before I get to the reviewing business, I should probably make it known that I've never used stretch mark oils or vitamin E oils as directed. Most directions suggest using these oils five or six times a day to achieve optimal results. My few lingering stretch marks left over from puberty don't...

Tea Tree Oil is a pretty effective deodorant.

Link to Tea Tree Oil is a pretty effective deodorant.

I've been swiping a little tea tree oil under my arms for the past few days with a cotton swab instead of using deodorant, and I think I'm going to make a habit of it. The strong scent (which is pretty reminiscent of licorice) fades within ten minutes, and it keeps my armpits fresh until nightfall. I was a pretty huge fan of the homemade deodorant that I'd been using, but I feel about as okay with  putting tea tree oil on my skin as I do baking soda, and tea tree...

Glass bottles make me smile.

Link to Glass bottles make me smile.

I'm just gonna go ahead and warn everyone: this post is about to be a link fest. The pretty glass bottle that my Burt's Bees Vitamin E Body & Bath Oil came in has inspired me to buy more glass bottles for storing homemade health and beauty products. My friend Chuck told me about two really neat websites where I can find glass bottles for next to nothing (SKS Bottle & Packaging, Inc.Sunburst Bottle Company), and I'm pretty pumped about it. The first two projects that I plan to fill some bottles...

Linalool, friend or foe?

Link to Linalool, friend or foe?

photo credit: miltedflower I mentioned linalool in my recent post about perfume, but I didn't really expound upon why it should be avoided because I hadn't done much research at that point (aside from the articles that I linked to in the post).  My curiosity was stirred once again while reading the ingredients to Danielle's seemingly harmless body oil.  Upon seeing the ingredient "linalool" listed, I immediately did some research. Linalool earns a hazard...

Partially-Crystallized Honey Lip Scrub

Link to Partially-Crystallized Honey Lip Scrub

photo credit: Roberto Verzo My lips were feeling kinda crusty (probably from me being in the sun and putting tea tree oil on them when I had that spot of poison ivy), so I used the same local honey that I've been using to sweeten my Perfectly Pear Tea to scrub my lips.  The honey was/is beginning to crystallize, so I figured that it would exfoliate well..and it did! I coated my lips in...

Link to 5 products I can’t wait to try

It's no secret that my cabinets have been overflowing with health and beauty products lately, but a girl can dream...can't she? Also, pay close attention to all the sweet ingredients you're about to encounter. The Answer's PMS Clear Facial Mask- I've yet to find anything that completely gets rid of pre-period breakouts. I guess this stuff could be the ticket. Ingredients- French green clay, Fullers Earth clay, green tea, and papaya extract.

Foods with anti-aging properties? Yes, please.

Link to Foods with anti-aging properties? Yes, please.

photo credit: » Zitona « I just read an article about foods that may slow the aging process, and I found it to be both interesting and helpful.  I tend to become so focused on health and beauty products that I forget how big a role the food we eat actually plays in our overall quality of life. I plan to buy kiwis, dark chocolate, and white tea tomorrow  when I go grocery...
