I brought my own snacks to the Harry Potter premiere last night, and I think it was a smart move.

I've managed to cut out the high fructose corn syrup completely and reduce my calorie intake by at least 150. As an added bonus, this super fruit tea provides 100% DV of both B12 and Vitamin C.

A Deal and a Steal

The tea on the left pictured above is the raspberry leaf tea I usually buy. It's tasty and it always comes in handy a few days before my period, but it costs over 5 dollars for only 16 bags. The tea on the right is a box I picked up a T.J. Maxx while at the beach with my family. There are 50 bags in that tiny little box, and it only cost 4 dollars. Even better, this tea has both raspberry leaf and raspberry fruit, so...

Foody Friday: Bangin’ Blueberry Banana Bread

Baking is not what I do best, and this is probably because I frequently alter recipes. If I want a sweet treat but am lacking the right kind of flour/sweetener/fruit, then I'll substitute and rearrange ingredients until things inevitably go awry. Yesterday, however, was a rare and lovely day. I spotted a recipe for vegan blueberry banana bread over at Six One Seven, and I discovered that I actually had almost everything I needed to make it happen! With a little help from Google, I found a substitute for the only ingredient...

In case you're interested, here's the Mushroom Ragu recipe we used. We substituted the chicken broth with Not Chick'n Cubes, and we managed to find organic heavy cream.   Danielle, Kirby, Kyle, and I finally weeded the garden. It needed it. I cannot wait to try one of the first tomatoes... if they ever decide to show up. Interested in a few foody articles? Here ya go: 7 Edible Weeds- Dandelion wine? Oh my word! Dog Toothpaste, Protein Shakes, and a Fantastic Article

I've been trying my best to brush Clementine and Winston's teeth daily, and their new Chicken flavored toothpaste is making that an increasingly manageable task. Clementine thinks she's getting a treat every time she sees her green toothbrush (and sometimes my white one), and Winston no longer objects to the process with cowering and sneezes. I try to avoid using products on my pets that I wouldn't use on myself, so I intentionally chose a toothpaste that was both sulfate and paraben free. Even better, all of the ingredients have have hazard scores no higher than two in...

Below are the highlights of my week in the categories of breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert (respectively).   Fyi, the toast ideas weren't entirely mine. I was inspired by a toast post I saw over at A Cozy Kitchen, which happens to be the only food blog I frequently read. I swapped the ricotta for chevre on the avocado toast and the almond butter for the dark chocolate version on the strawberry toast. I also snapped a few Instagram pictures at the Farmer's Market this week, but I really should've taken more. There were so many colorful fruits and...

If you read this blog often or even occasionally, then you probably know that herbal tea is one of my favorite things in the whole world (in my long list of favorite things, it can be found right below my dogs and just above tart frozen yogurt). So when Maria from Sacred Rose Tea contacted me about the possibility of reviewing her lovely organic tea, I was all for it. To be honest, I squealed with excitement more than once when I opened my Sacred Rose package to see not one but two beautifully boxed teas...
