Product Review: S.W. Basics Truly All-Natural Lip Balms

Lip Balm

If there’s one thing I value more than soft lips, then it’s soft lips that also smell and taste pleasant. And guess what? The balms I’ll be reviewing today deliver all of the above. WIN.

Ingredients (provided at store.swbasicsofbk.com)-  ”Beeswax*, Extra-virgin coconut oil*, Cocoa butter*, Essential oils* (In citrus, cinnamon, and peppermint options)

*Organic”

The Cosmetics Database gives the peppermint, cinnamon, and cocoa lip balms low hazard scores of 0, and it gives the citrus lip balm an also low hazard score of 1.

Some great things about this product:

1. It’s free of parabens, phenoxyethanol, phthalates, and tons of other stuff you wouldn’t want in and around your mouth.

2. It contains organic ingredients.

Product Description(provided at store.swbasicsofbk.com)-  ”We hate sticky, waxy lips just as much as dry and cracked ones. That’s why we designed our S.W. Basics Lip Balms to soak in and heal without leaving behind any leftover stuff. And since we use only the absolutely essential ingredients for all of our products, there’s nothing going on your mouth that shouldn’t be going in your mouth.”

Performance– Kissably soft lips? Check. Lasting moisture? Check. Guilt-free ingredients? AND check. Say hello to my new faves.

Scent– Let’s see here. The peppermint smells like peppermint. The cocoa smells like chocolate. The citrus smells like citrus. And the cinnamon smells like cinnamon. Surprised? Of course not. I will say that since these balms contain cocoa butter, they all have a faint and pleasant chocolatey scent/flavor. My preferred nighttime scent is cocoa, and the other three hang out in my purse for daytime application.

Rating– I’m gonna go with 9/10 since these balms, if applied too forcefully, will straight up collapse onto your face. I still love ‘em, though.

Would I purchase this item again? Yup!

*I received these lip balms as part of a Quarterly Co. subscription. I was not compensated in any way for this review.
