Pink Papaya Botanical Facial Toner for Combination Skin Review

Pink Papaya

Today I’ll be reviewing the second Pink Papaya product I received: the Botanical Facial Toner for combination skin.

Ingredients (provided with product packaging)- purified water, glycerin, papaya extract, grapefruit extract, sambucus nigra extract, centaurea cyanus extract, rose extract, panthenol, zinc lactate, VP/acrylates lauryl methacrylate copolymer, sodium hydroxide, DMDM hydantoin, disodium EDTA.

The Cosmetics Database was down when I tried to search for this product and/or create a preliminary report for it, so I’m not sure what the hazard score would be. As with the polish, though, I didn’t see any red flags in the list of ingredients. I’m not too worried.

Some great things about this product:

1. It’s free of parabens, sulfates, and phenoxyethanol.

2. It’s cruelty-free.

3. It’s made with fair trade ingredients.

Product Description(provided at

Botanical Facial Toner

Restores pH balance of your skin and removes excess oils, leaving skin clean, soothed and refreshed.

  • grapefruit, elder flower, cornflower and rose extracts keep the skin balanced
  • seaweed, sea algae & kelp hydrate, tighten and protect
  • use morning and evening after facial wash

Price– $18.50 for a 6 oz. bottle.

Performance– This toner is golden. It doesn’t have the offensive alcohol burn that’s present in so many toners, and it’s a great post cleansing step prior to moisturizing. It effectively removes any leftover makeup residue,  and it’s great at combating oiliness on  hotter days.  The lack of scent is quite refreshing (see below).

Scent– Faint, nondescript.

Rating– 10/10. I have no complaints! I’ll adjust if necessary once the Cosmetics Database is back up.

Would I purchase this item again? I would.
