Today I’ll be review another one of the Shear Miracles salon products that I won in a recent giveaway: the Smooth Skin Organic Shower Gel. Here we go!
Ingredients (provided at shearmiracles.net)- “Organic aloe vera; structured vitamin water concentrate; organic apple juice, organic coconut oil, palm oil, organic sunflower oil; organic African black soap; castor oil, organic shea Butter, organic jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, apricot oil and evening primrose oil; vegetable glycerin; organic oat flour; pro-vitamin B12; hemp oil, hydrolyzed oats, organic plant sourced xanthan gum; jojoba beads; essential oils of: rose absolute, chamomile, patchouli, almond and rosemary.”
This preliminary report I created for this product in the Cosmetics Database gives it a low hazard score of 1. The only individual ingredients with hazard scores above a 0 are castor oil, aloe vera, hemp seed oil, and rose flower oil. I did not include African black soap in the report since the database did not recognize it.
1. It’s free of parabens, sulfates, phenoxyethanol, petrochemicals, and artificial fragrance.
2. It’s made with organic ingredients.
3. It’s cruelty-free.
4. It’s GMO free.
Product Description(provided at shearmiracles.net)- “This break through formula goes beyond cleansing to help visibly even skin tone and texture to renew and reveal radiant-looking skin. Gentle yet effective, never gritty feeling or rough.”
Price– $19.99 for an 8 oz. bottle, which I realize might be a bit steep for body wash.
Performance– This product has a nice lather, and it leaves my skin clean without drying it out. I’m big into the exfoliating beads, which seem to scrub away dead skin and armpit odor exceptionally well.
Scent– It has a surprisingly masculine, earthy scent with an almond finish. I don’t dislike it at all, but I’m definitely used to bathing with sweeter and/or girlier products.
Rating– I’m subtracting a point for the price and another since I typically go for more feminine scents. 8/10.
Would I purchase this item again? As I said, I’m more likely to go for something more obviously intended for a lady. I’m always pushing natural products on Kirby, though, so I’d definitely consider snagging another bottle for him when I run out.
