When the founder of Nassim Naturals contacted me about trying one of her products, I took one look at their ingredients and told her I’d be happy to do so. Next came the hard part: deciding which product to try. After some careful deliberation, I went with the Cleansing Milk. Not to pat myself on the back or anything, but it was a pretty solid decision!
Ingredients (provided at nassimnaturals.com)- “aqua, rose hydrosol, aloe vera, jojoba oil, sorbitan olivate (from olives), cetearyl olivate (from olives), coconut oil, essential oil of lavender, rose geranium, palma rosa, grapefruit seed infused in vegetable glycerin.”
The preliminary report I created for this product in the Cosmetics Database gives it a low hazard score of 1. None of the individual ingredients have hazard scores above a 1.
Some great things about this product:
1. It’s free of synthetic fragrances, parabens, sulfates (and any harsh surfactants, for that matter), and phenoxyethanol.
2. The bottle can easily be reused, and I plan to do just that.
Product Description(provided at nassimnaturals.com)- “Extra mild daily cleanser. Ideal for removing makeup, it can also be used as a shaving cream for men. Removes dirt and impurities without stripping the skin.”
Price– $22 for a 4 oz. bottle.
Performance– I quickly discovered that my favorite time to use this product is at night. The relaxing scent (see below) and richness of this cleanser make my nightly ritual all the more enjoyable. First, I put one pump’s worth onto a warm, wet bath cloth and use it to remove my eye makeup. It’s gentle and doesn’t burn my eyes, which is always a nice perk. After removing my eye makeup, I splash my face with warm water, pump a little more into the palm of my hand, and massage it into my skin with small circular motions (as the label suggests). Next, I’ll either let it stay on my skin while I floss/brush my teeth or go ahead and rinse/tone/moisturize. My skin is so soft when I’m done, you guys. It’s just the dreamiest. I’ve also been occasionally washing my face with this stuff throughout the day if I start feeling a little sweaty and less than fresh. It isn’t drying at all, so the extra washes aren’t the least bit harsh on my skin.
Scent– Lavender, floral, calming. A perfect just-before bedtime scent. : )
Rating– I’m subtracting .5 since I don’t typically pay this much for a facial cleanser, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think this product was worth every penny. 9.5/10
Would I purchase this item again? Yep!
