Josie Maran 100% Organic Argan Oil is the last of three Josie Maran products I received in the mail for review. It is by far my favorite, so I guess you could say I saved the best for last!
Ingredients (provided at josiemarancosmetics.com)- “100% Organic Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil.”
I couldn’t find this specific product on the Cosmetic Safety Database, but I did find Argan Oil which has a very low hazard score of zero. Since argan oil is the solitary ingredient in this product, it seems reasonable to assume that this product would also receive a hazard score of zero.
Some great things about this product:
1. It’s organic.
2. It’s cruely, paraben, fragrance, and petrochemical- free.
3. The little glass bottle with dropper is so handy, and I’ll definitely be reusing it.
Product Description (also provided at josiemarancosmetics.com)- “This legendary, lightweight oil, grown organically in Morocco, is rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids. Use it as a fast absorbing daily moisturizer, or to heal and condition everything from cuticles to split ends. Plus it is 100% organic! Housed in a recyclable glass bottle.”
Performance– I’ve found that this product does a much better job of taking care of rough cuticles than the Josie Maran Argan Oil Moisturizing Stick. It makes my nails and cuticles look impressively shiny and healthy. It’s also great for ingrown hairs and razor burn. The bottle says the oil can be used as a daily moisturizer, but I’m hesitant to try it since it’s pure oil. A little advice: this product can last for a pretty long time if you don’t go overboard when applying it. I filled the dropper completely full the first few times I used this product, and I quickly realized this was both messy and unnecessary. A little dab will do!
Scent– It doesn’t really have a scent at all. I should know; I’ve tried to smell it several times without any luck.
Rating– I’m subtracting two points for the steep price, but I have no other complaints: 8/10!
Would I purchase this product?– Actually, I might. Fifty dollars is expensive, but it’s not entirely ridiculous for as long as this oil lasts. However, this is probably the kind of thing that I’d ask for as a gift before I’d buy it for myself.
