I actually read the article I'm about to share a while back, but since  I'm still pretty busy with school and don't have a lot of time to compose anything original...today seemed like an okay time to bring it out. Like me, I'm sure you guys spend 94% of your lives searching for new and frightening scenarios to worry about, so why not add these 5 Pet Poisons to your list? Since each item on the list can easily find its way into your purse, accidentally poisoning your pet has never...

While taking a week-long break from classes, I've decided to also take a week-long break from blogging. I'll be devoting my days to books and essays for school and my nights to good times. Just popping in to let you know I'll be back next Monday with reviews and the like. See...

My friend Hannah visited recently, and she left a big, beautiful pumpkin behind when she returned home. Since then, I've been brainstorming ways to put it to good use. Halloween's over, so carving it seems kind of silly. I did just come across an article about the health benefits of pumpkins for dogs, though, so making pumpkin dog treats might be in order. Below are a few pumpkin dog treat recipes I've found: Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats Halloween Pumpkin Dog Treats Homemade...

My dogs are basically like furry children to me, so taking care of them is something that comes pretty naturally. Still, sometimes baths are more trouble than they're worth. If Clementine and Winston aren't smelling their best and I don't have a lot of time to spare, then dry shampoo is kind of a life saver. Ingredients (provided at eco-me.com)- "Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda), Zea Mays (Corn Starch)Grapefruit, Clary Sage essential oils." I couldn’t locate this product in the Cosmetics Database, so I’ve...

While on vacation in June, I found the above at T.J. Maxx for only 4 dollars. The ingredients and price were too good to pass up, so I bought them and brought them home as a present for Clementine and Winston (Actually, I think my mom paid for them on the condition that I would tell the dogs they were a gift from their grandmother. She also bought them some natural dry shampoo I'll be reviewing in the near future. She's sweet like that). Anyway, when...

I've been trying my best to brush Clementine and Winston's teeth daily, and their new is making that an increasingly manageable task. Clementine thinks she's getting a treat every time she sees her green toothbrush (and sometimes my white one), and Winston no longer objects to the process with cowering and sneezes. I try to avoid using products on my pets that I wouldn't use on myself, so I intentionally chose a toothpaste that was both sulfate and paraben free. Even better, all of the ingredients have have hazard scores no higher than two in...

Our friends Jason and Christina came to visit this past weekend, and we decided to make the above deliciousness the night before they left. This might be the most indulgent treat I've shared in a Foody Friday post yet, but I see nothing wrong with occasionally living a little.  Using dark chocolate in place of the white could've easily made this snack much smarter (and perhaps tastier if you're a dark chocolate fan like me), but we had an entire box of Baker's white chocolate left over...

I finally got around to making and using the All-Natural Fabric Softener that I recently posted about wanting to try. Not only was it super easy to make, but it also might be a match made in heaven with my homemade lavender dryer sheets. The barely there scent of lemons combined with the rich lavender scent is near perfect! Making this fabric softener is as simple as combining the above ingredients in something that has a lid, like a large jar, and shaking the covered container....

Lemongrass Oil as a Flea Deterrent

Link to Lemongrass Oil as a Flea Deterrent

Since the warm weather and the fleas have arrived in Lake Charles (however briefly their stay may be), Clementine and Winston have been a little extra itchy. According to , lemongrass oil is an effective at deterring and discouraging  fleas, and the book suggests mixing a drop with their shampoo. I, of course, had to try this out immediately. Last night, after brushing their tiny teeth with Triple Pet All Natural Toothpaste (which I've been trying to remember to do daily),  I gave each of them a lemongrass and...
