When I shared my on , I mentioned that I had been adding a few drops of peppermint essential oil to my less than impressive Weleda toothpaste. A few folks who commented on the post seemed to think that this was a really neat idea, so I thought I'd type up a little post about it just in case you didn't catch it on Alexandra and Siobhan's blog. Whether out of frugality or dedication, if you're powering...

When Clementine and Winston ran out of their latest tube of store bought toothpaste, I decided to try and make their next batch to save a little money. I used a simple recipe that called for only salt, baking soda, and vegetable glycerin. I'll admit that I was a little worried they wouldn't like it since I didn't add any sort of meaty flavor to it, but they loved it just as much as their old expensive stuff! Maybe I'll treat them next time and pick...

I recently read an article that put 5 Homemade Toothpaste Recipes to the test, and the author seemed to hate each and every concoction for one reason or another. I'm not sure I even gained any valuable information from the article, but it did leave me with the following questions: Does anyone like homemade toothpaste? Are there any recipes that aren't too salty, harsh, and/or nasty? Should we, as adults, sacrifice taste for performance? All the homemade toothpastes I've tried in the past don't freshen my breath as...

I've been favoriting/hearting things left and right on Etsy lately, and I just can't quit. Below are a few of my favorite health and beauty related discoveries. I'm almost out of my current toothpaste, and shipping for this little guy is free with another item! Read More »

I've been trying my best to brush Clementine and Winston's teeth daily, and their new is making that an increasingly manageable task. Clementine thinks she's getting a treat every time she sees her green toothbrush (and sometimes my white one), and Winston no longer objects to the process with cowering and sneezes. I try to avoid using products on my pets that I wouldn't use on myself, so I intentionally chose a toothpaste that was both sulfate and paraben free. Even better, all of the ingredients have have hazard scores no higher than two in...
