With summer here and sun exposure becoming inevitable, taking care of our skin should be at the forefront of our minds. Unfortunately, healthy skin isn't guaranteed to everyone with a cabinet full of clean beauty products and a fridge full of whole foods. Did you know that where you live can also play a huge part in your  skin's health and overall appearance? That's where comes in:

Taking into account climate, skin cancer rates, and lifestyle, Daily Glow names the 55...

Link to Dry skin brushing, anyone?

Leave it to me to be the last person on earth to try something useful, but are you guys familiar with dry skin brushing? mentioned incorporating it into her daily routine a couple of months or so ago, and (as with most awesome things she tries) I simply told her to let me know how she liked it. I had all but forgotten about dry skin brushing until I saw a recent morning routine on that mentioned it, and soon...

Link to On Keeping Pets Out of Purses

I actually read the article I'm about to share a while back, but since  I'm still pretty busy with school and don't have a lot of time to compose anything original...today seemed like an okay time to bring it out. Like me, I'm sure you guys spend 94% of your lives searching for new and frightening scenarios to worry about, so why not add these 5 Pet Poisons to your list? Since each item on the list can easily find its way into your purse, accidentally poisoning your pet has never...

Hey friends, Today I thought I'd share some links with you guys that I've been enjoying lately. Here you go! Do you own any of the Three Essential Oils to Keep in Your Medicine Cabinet? Tea tree oil works like a charm on mosquito bites. I promise! A friend of mine sent me an article that lists Seven Surprising Uses for Baking Soda, and there were a few that were new to me. I can't wait to put baking soda to the test with blemishes, baths, and tummy aches! I am dying (an exaggeration) to try several of the Top Natural...

In case you're interested, here's the Mushroom Ragu recipe we used. We substituted the chicken broth with , and we managed to find organic heavy cream.   Danielle, Kirby, Kyle, and I finally weeded the garden. It needed it. I cannot wait to try one of the first tomatoes... if they ever decide to show up. Interested in a few foody articles? Here ya go: 7 Edible Weeds- Dandelion wine? Oh my word! I've been trying my best to brush Clementine and Winston's teeth daily, and their new is making that an increasingly manageable task. Clementine thinks she's getting a treat every time she sees her green toothbrush (and sometimes my white one), and Winston no longer objects to the process with cowering and sneezes. I try to avoid using products on my pets that I wouldn't use on myself, so I intentionally chose a toothpaste that was both sulfate and paraben free. Even better, all of the ingredients have have hazard scores no higher than two in...

Below are the highlights of my week in the categories of breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert (respectively).   Fyi, the toast ideas weren't entirely mine. I was inspired by a toast post I saw over at A Cozy Kitchen, which happens to be the only food blog I frequently read. I swapped the ricotta for chevre on the avocado toast and the almond butter for the dark chocolate version on the strawberry toast. I also snapped a few Instagram pictures at the Farmer's Market this week, but I really should've taken more. There were so many colorful fruits and...

For me, one of the best parts of vacationing is being able to eat delicious food nonstop without feeling the usual amount of guilt. My vacation mode internal dialogue- "Two pieces of pie and a cookie for dessert? Well, I am on vacation. Why not? And maybe I should wash it down with a tub of melted butter... " Below are some of the tastiest dishes and treats I've been allowing myself to enjoy this week.

Oh yeah! Danielle and I did manage to make the Mango Lime Virgin Margaritas I mentioned in yesterday's post. As per...

Kirby and I recently went with two of our friends to Beaumont for a day of shopping, and we ended up eating at a place called Chaba Thai. The food was delicious, and I ate way too much of it. I had Green Curry with Tofu, and our friend Missy had Pad Thai with Tofu (both pictured below). Kirby's spicy shrimp dish was pretty great too, but there wasn't a very large window of time for photographing pretty plates since we were all famished (an exaggeration).   Lake Charles' lack of a Thai restaurant is a real shame, if you ask me.   Also, I've...

Here are some delicious and mostly healthy lunch, dinners, and desserts I've been enjoying lately (sidenote: Instagram makes eating almost twice as fun!)-

Before I go, here are a few interesting food related articles.

Just Because It's Organic Doesn't Mean It's Healthy- I am occasionally guilty of buying a box of cookies made with organic flour/sugar and thinking all is well with the world. And there's BPA in Amy's canned foods?! I'm not big into canned anything, but that's...
