Tell Your Friends:

rosewater & glycerin

I recently read a little about the benefits of rosewater, and I was prompted to pick up a bottle of the above mixture during yesterday’s visit to the health food store. It’s a combination of water, rose oil, and vegetable glycerin. I’m not exactly sure how I’m supposed to be using this stuff, so I’ve just been splashing a bit on my face after cleansing and before moisturizing.  I’ve only used it twice so far, so I’m hardly ready to review it. We’ll see how it goes!

Have you ever tried rosewater? If so, when and how did you use it? Did you love it? Hate it? Do tell!

I actually just ordered some from Vitacost the other day, and I can’t wait to use it because I love the smell of roses. I had this idea of making a toner out of rosewater, glycerin and witch hazel, but I’m not exactly sure the ratios I’m going to use yet. I know some people also use it as a moisturizer from reading the reviews of it.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the toner once you make it! I’m a big fan of the scent as well. :)

I use rosewater and glycerin but i bought it seperately and then mixed it in equal portions. I use it as a moisturizer. I am not sure if its maybe because i added too much glycerin but it has a tendency to feel sticky if i put too much but i feel like it has still left an overall positive effect. My skin is no longer flaky (pesky winter), feels hydrated and plump and more even toned. Or maybe im just thinking its giving me these positive effects. The only other complaint i have aside from it getting sticky is that im not very fond of the smell (considering my name has a rose im trying really hard to like it) .Im not entirely sure of the results i got since i think im thinking too much into it and i also changed my facewash into just oatmeal scrub. Sorry this is so long.

Hmmm, I haven’t noticed any stickiness with the bottle I purchased, so maybe it does have to do with the proportions. And I agree, I’m definitely starting to see a reduction in dryness!

I’ve heard people say that roses remind them of old ladies before, but I’ve always been a fan.

What kind of oatmeal scrub are you using? Do you like it?
