A Simple Solution to My Hair Predicament

I rarely regret my decision to avoid shampoo, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't occasionally miss the scent of freshly-washed hair. Hair that smells like nothing can get pretty boring, and without that just shampooed look/feel/scent, I often forget when I last used baking soda and apple cider vinegar. Because of this, I tend use baking soda more frequently than is necessary. This is both wasteful and not so great for my already dry hair.

Amber, my talented hairstylist, often mixes a few drops...

For today's post, I thought I'd share two interesting articles with you guys. 9 Essential Oils with Huge Health Benefits- Danielle bought me a set of 6 essential oils for Christmas, and I've yet to open the bottle of peppermint oil. Sounds like I could be putting that stuff to good use! Also, this is the first I've heard of lavender combating high blood pressure. Geranium, Rose, Clove, and Lemon Balm oil clearly need to find their ways to my bathroom cabinet. 10 Reasons Japanese Women Don't Get Old or Fat- Eating brown rice more often...

With my approaching period, I've been feeling not quite myself lately. I've been eating everything in sight without a second thought. My skin and my hair haven't been behaving themselves (My clay and eggs mask had positive but fleeting results), and after walking Clem and Winston every day this week, my feet are sore and actually pretty smelly (It happens to the best of us).  One night this week, in an attempt to make myself look and feel less haggard, I made time for a

A Great Bath Experience

Link to A Great Bath Experience

I took an awesome bath a couple of nights ago, and it involved: 1) Some of the leftover lavender and peppermint homemade bath soak that Danielle and I made. The peppermint tea in the bath soak sort of collected around the edges of the tub and looked gross, but the bath was otherwise perfect. 2) The Complete Book Of Essential Oils & Aromatherapy, which is a wonderful book that Danielle got me for Christmas....

Link to Dr. Bronner’s has changed my feelings toward public restrooms.

I've recently started carrying a travel-size bottle filled with Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Pure-Castile Soap in my purse. I am no longer faced with either having to wash my hands with anti-bacterial sludge (that contains any number of questionable ingredients) or not washing my hands at all. I should've done this months ago; I feel good about life. Annnnd: After I find a job and am making money down here in Lake Charles, I'm going to buy all of the containers and necessary ingredients to create and sell my own line...
