Link to An Early, Lovely Christmas Present

Kirby gave me one of my Christmas presents early, and (with the help of my immediate family) I tried it out the night before last. It's a clear glass tea pot with loose tea infuser and 12 flowering teas! The twelve teas are all green tea with jasmine (which is my absolute favorite, by the way), but they all have a different flower that blooms when you pour hot water over it! That guy always knows just what to get me.

Link to Egg Yolk And Honey Face Mask + A Disturbing Article

photo credit: Dominique Godbout Danielle and I did a moisturizing egg yolk and honey face mask a couple of nights ago, and boy was it moisturizing! The dry patch of skin that had appeared on my upper lip (as a result of me blowing my nose constantly while I had a cold) completely disappeared. My grandmother commented on how pretty our skin looked the following day. We used two yard eggs and...

Exfoliating is important!

Link to Exfoliating is important!

As neurotic as I may be about cleansing and toning my face, I often forget to exfoliate. Sometimes I'll go weeks without exfoliation even crossing my mind. I usually start to notice a difference in my skin by week two of no scrubbin', though. My skin starts to look dull, and tiny whiteheads start to appear in the most inconvenient places. Why do I do this to myself when I know that this will consistently be the outcome?! That question's rhetorical; I don't know the answer and neither do you. Still, it's something I need to get on the ball...

Link to Avocado, Honey, and Oatmeal Face Mask

A few nights ago, Danielle and I made a mask for our faces out of avocado, honey, and Dr. Teal's Oatmeal Bath Soaking Solution (which is much less messy/slimy than regular ol' oatmeal, by the way). It was an altogether pleasant experience. The mask was supposed to promote even skin tone, and I didn't see much of a result as far as that goes...but it made my skin soft like a baby's! We had enough mix left for two or three more masks, but I threw it out since avocado doesn't keep well. What a shame, right? I'll definitely be...

Link to Partially-Crystallized Honey Lip Scrub

photo credit: Roberto Verzo My lips were feeling kinda crusty (probably from me being in the sun and putting tea tree oil on them when I had that spot of poison ivy), so I used the same local honey that I've been using to sweeten my Perfectly Pear Tea to scrub my lips.  The honey was/is beginning to crystallize, so I figured that it would exfoliate well..and it did! I coated my lips in...

I'm a big fan of hot teas. While grocery shopping, I tend to  find myself on the tea aisle picking out two or three new flavors (which is ridiculous, considering the overwhelming amount of tea that I already have at home).  Last night, I discovered something delcious; I cannot keep it to myself. I mixed     and         and some honey. The result was something wonderful. It tasted a little  like a liquid fruit...

I scoff at insomnia.

Link to I scoff at insomnia.

1) Melatonin- I take one 3 mg pill of these bad boys about thirty minutes before I get in the bed. Since melatonin is a hormone that the body (more specificially, the brain) already makes, I don't feel guilty about taking them to help me sleep. Word to the wise, do not take these unless you plan on getting eight or more hours of sleep: any less and you might feel surprisingly hungover. Also, in most situations I opt for the natural version when given the choice between natural or synthetic, but when it comes to melatonin it's probably safest...
