So, I obviously couldn’t wear yesterday’s dream outfit today since I didn’t/don’t own any of those things, but I put together what I think is a pretty perfect Thanksgiving outfit with some items I did have. This picture is actually from a last week, since I planned the outfit in advance, but I’m also wearing it today.

Can I just talk about this skirt for a minute? I won it in a give away on Melisa’s lovely Pie N’ The Sky blog a month or so ago, and I have already worn it too many times to count. It’s definitely the most fun skirt I own; just look at that hem! If you’re a fan as well then you should head on over to Valerie’s Etsy shop, Dottie Adele, because it’s full of equally dreamy items. Oh yeah, and you should probably check out her blog too!

Happy Thanksgiving, y’all! I have plenty of reasons to be thankful, but food, family and friends are definitely at the top of the list. : )

Foody Friday: Spooky Treats

Some of our friends are having a Halloween party this weekend, so I’ve been keeping an eye out for Halloween-themed party foods for the past several days. I think I’ve decided on the following two:

BLACK BEAN GUACAMOLE (with blue corn tortilla chips) AND CANDY CORN FUDGE!

Assuming I don’t eat all the fudge while I’m making it, I think these guys will both make pretty delicious party treats.

How about you? Are there any especially scary recipes you can’t wait to try? I’d also love to hear about your costumes! Kirby and I are going as Olive Oyl and Bluto. Pictures to come!

This isn't an eCard, but I thought it was super cool-looking.

I’ve never been a huge fan of eCards. I’d usually rather have a card that I can actually hold with human handwriting on it (as opposed to…fonts). But I discovered today that sending eCards actually has some benefits (aside from the good karma that likely goes along with not using tons of paper). When you send Care2 eCards, you earn butterfly credits. According to Care2′s website, “Credits can be redeemed for meaningful gifts like safe drinking water,carbon offsets, or help for shelter pets through amazing organizations.” I don’t know about you, but that makes me wanna send a few Christmastime eCards.

I need hair help!

I have a hair appointment next Tuesday, and I’ve convinced myself that I need bangs. Imagine that! I’d really appreciate some help in the way of advice on particular bang type. I’m having trouble deciding which kind of bangs I want and, more importantly, which kind would look best.

Which of these bangs would be best suited to my face shape/facial features?

Also, Is it wrong that this Care2 article about the Top 12 Unhealthiest Holiday Drinks does little more than make me want a fat Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha from Starbucks? I mean, sometimes you gotta treat yourself.

More Green for Less Green

By the title, of course, I meant more environmentally friendly items for less money. It may not be clever or original, but it made me chuckle. And if you’re usually broke like me, then you’re gonna love re-nest’s 25 Green Home Gifts Under $25. Before seeing this list, I actually purchased one of the items listed for Kirby as one of his smaller Christmas presents). I won’t disclose which one, since Kirby may or may not read my blog sometimes (probably not). Anyway, how cute are those lavender sachets?! Annnd I don’t hate that solid brass bicycle bell.

I’ve already mentioned to you guys a couple of things that are on my Christmas list- Soap-Making Supplies and Not Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry. Here are a few other awesome finds that made my list:

1) Debutante Face Scrubbies- I’m the kind of person who buys gifts for friends that I secretly want for myself. I bought my good friend, Selena, a set of these for her birthday not long ago. Ever since then, I’ve been longing for them. They’re very reasonably-priced, and they come in a set of 4. Even better, they’re 100% cotton and greener than disposable cotton face pads!

2) Demeter Naturals Mimosa Eau De Toilette Spray- I’m pretty sure that I’ve publicly swooned over this perfume on my blog before, but no one took the hint and bought it for me. I hope someone does this time; that’d be a Christmas miracle. It’s also formulated without synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrances, and pthalates, so I don’t have to feel guilty about using it!

3) Earth Science Purfection Hand Cream- I just got a lot of free samples from this company, and I’ve only tried the hand cream thus far. It’s super dreamy; the scent reminds me of these scented babydolls that I used to play with as a child. Don’t you worry; I’ll review the hand cream soon. I kind of hate that this it’s out of stock, but I’m sure it’s for sale elsewhere.

What on y’alls Christmas list? It doesn’t have to be health and beauty-related for you to share, but it certainly can be!
