I don't expect the body oils that I use to work miracles. I've said it once and I'll say it again: I don't expect the few lingering stretch marks that I have left over from puberty to ever fade completely. I simply use these oils to make the more delicate areas of my skin (breasts, thighs, hips) soft after showering. I typically like for these oils to be scented, because it makes me feel pretty and I don't feel that I need a better reason than that. I just finished a bottle of Origin Soothing Vitamin E Oil from Target,...

Everyone probably already knows about my love affair with Tea Tree Oil; it's one if the beauty products that I almost always have in my cabinet. Lately, though, I've had wandering eyes. I decided to try the evanhealy Blemish Treatment Roll-On in hopes that it would do everything that Tea Tree Oil does for my blemishes and so much more. Here's how it went: Ingredients- (provided at evanhealy.com)- “Apricot kernel oil (Prunus armeniaca),* rose hip seed oil (Rosa canina seed);* essential oils of: rosemary verbenon (Rosemarinus officinalis), thyme thymol (Thymus vulgaris), palmarosa (Cymbopogon martinii),* lavender maillette (Lavandula angustifolia),* cinnamon leaf (Cinnamomum...

I ordered some adorable and on sale shoes for myself today, and I can't wait to wear them! A piece of news that is more relevant to this blog, however, is that I also ordered some health and beauty product samples by brands that I rarely or never review. The brands are Lily Organics, evanhealy, The Answer For Skin, and Skin; the products will be tested and reviewed shortly after they arrive....

The decision to stop using bar soap to wash my face was one of the best that I’ve ever made. Before buying this product, I used Karen’s Botanicals Rehydrating Olive Oil Cleanser, which is a product that I also adore. Ingredients- (provided at aubreyorganics.com)- “Coconut Fatty Acid Cream Base, Organic Aloe Vera, Organic Castile Liquid Soap, Horsetail Extract, Calendula Oil, St. John's Wort Oil, Coltsfoot Extract, Coneflower Extract, Linoleic Acid (Vitamin F), Panthenol (Vitamin B-5), Carrot Oil, Aubrey's Preservative (Citrus Seed Extract, Vitamins A, C and E), Organic Lemon Peel Oil ” This Facial Cleansing Lotion received a hazard score of two...

Since I use unscented detergent, I sometimes feel that my clothes need a hint of fresh scent to remind me that they're clean. I recently bought some Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Geranium Dryer Sheets, and here's what I thought. Ingredients- (provided at mrsmeyers.com)- “Di-(Palm Carboxyethyl) Hydroxyethyl Methlammonium Methyl Sulfate, Palm Fatty Acid, Fragrance, Geranium Maculatum (Geranium) Oil, Rosa Centifolia (Rose) Flower Oil, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Flower Oil ” This product, along with the first ingredient, couldn't be found on the Cosmetic Safety Database, but Mrs. Meyers products that do appear on the site range from a hazard...

Today is my beautiful sister Danielle's birthday, and while I could never top the caring and thoughtful gifts that she gave me for my recent birthday (some lovely handmade pillowcases that she'll be posting about soon)... I still tried to buy her things that she will use and enjoy. One of the health food stores in Lake Charles is going out of business (sadly, it's probably the better of the two that we have), and everything in their store is 45% off! I even got the basket (the one that all the gifts are piled in) from there for...

I might be hoarding health and beauty products.

Moving sucks, but I think that it might suck a little less for me than it does for most people.  My possessions are pretty much limited to clothing, accessories, miscellaneous craft items,  and a lot of beauty products.  I realize what kind of person that must make me seem like, but I can't muster the energy to care.  Our bedroom furniture is Kirby's.  Our living room furniture is Kirby's.  Even our dishes belong to Kirby.  I am using Kirby's computer to type this post.  We did buy our television together, so I guess that's something...but moving...
