I would like to apologize for jumping the gun and telling the internet that Karen’s Botanicals Calendula Rose Facial Cream smells like ham. After being assured that I must have received an expired or defective sample, I gave it another try. To my surprise, the cream smelled nothing like ham the second time around. Apparently I did initially receive a bad sample.

re-review:

Scent- While the scent is not something that I consider entirely pleasant, it certainly is not unpleasant. It would not prevent me from purchasing the product, especially since the smell fades within a few minutes of applying the cream.

Performance- The performance is the same. The cream is thoroughly moisturizing; it also makes my face soft and lovely.

Ingredients (the same, obviously)- Sunflower, Olive oil infused with Rosebud and Calendula blossom, Calendula extract, Aloe Vera gel, Jojoba oil, Emulsifying vegetable wax, Beeswax, Mixed Tocopherols (non-GMO certified Vitamin E oil), Borage seed oil, Evening Primrose oil*, Borage seed oil, Rosehip seed oil, Blue Chamomile essential oil, selected essential oil blend.

Price- My second sample was free, which was generous considering my bitchy remarks concerning the first one. A 1.7 oz container is $25.50. That might seem expensive, but it’s a pretty standard price for any facial cream that has quality ingredients.

Rating- 9, y’all

p.s. I recently purchased some more Karen’s Botanicals products (namely, a toner and a lotion). They are off the chain, my friends. Reviews are on the way!
