In the past, I've encountered natural toothpastes that I love and natural toothpastes that I hate. I've come to realize that trying a new, natural toothpaste is quite the adventure. Until the toothbrush touches my teeth/gums/tongue, I'm not sure if I'm about to discover a new favorite or something so foul that I have to hold my nose to get through a few minutes of tooth-brushing. After trying several different kinds of Tom's of Maine toothpastes, I've come to realize that they are all flawed in some way or another.  Most of them have Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (and not to mention fluoride: don't even get me started on fluoride), and the ones that are SLS and fluoride free still don't freshen my breath.  I'm a frequent flosser, a mouth-washer, and a tongue brusher...so I'm pretty sure that it's no fault of my own.
