I really enjoyed reading this Care2 article that lists 6 Natural Cures for Dry Skin. Thoughts: The article suggests removing makeup with olive oil, but I prefer taking off my eye makeup with coconut oil, because it comes off with much less effort (and everyone knows that the less you scrub the sensitive skin under your eyes, the less likely you are to get wrinkles). I can't wait to try that Greek Yogurt and Papaya Enzyme Conditioning Mask. It's at least tenth on a long list of masks that I need to try, and I mean it when I say...

Below is my review for one of the two products that Eco Store USA generously sent me. Clementine and Winston both have especially dry and itchy skin during the winter months, so I was hoping that this Hypoallergenic Shampoo would provide them with some relief. Ingredients (provided at ecostoreusa.com)- “Aqua (water), Coco Glucoside,  Aloe Vera (certified organic), Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Glyceryl Oleate, Polysorbate 20Glycerin, Panthenol, Botanical extract blend of Chamomile,Calendula and Sage, Cocodimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Oat Protein, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate,...

As much as I love Dr. Bronner's liquid soap, it has done nothing at all for my winter dry skin. In an attempt to show my skin a little extra love (and since I had just run out of my Dr. Bronner's Almond Liquid Soap) , I bought Burt's Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk and Shea Butter Body Wash. Ingredients (provided at burtsbees.com)- "Water, decyl glucoside, carthamus tinctorius (safflower) oleosomes, sodium cocoyl hydrolyzed soy protein, glycerin, fragrance, coco-glucoside, glyceryl oleate, non-fat dry...

I'm the kind of person who finds a great moisturizer and sticks with it, but I love trying new facial cleansers. In the past several months I've tried and loved two others: Karen's Botanicals Rehydrating Olive Oil Cleanser and Aubrey Organics Vegecol Facial Cleansing Lotion. Despite my contentment with my cleansing lotion, I was eager to try something new when I received Acure Organics Olive+Mint Facial Cleansing Creme in the mail for review. The following product was given to me by the kind people at Acure Organics, but my opinions were given to me by...

Link to Egg Yolk And Honey Face Mask + A Disturbing Article

photo credit: Dominique Godbout Danielle and I did a moisturizing egg yolk and honey face mask a couple of nights ago, and boy was it moisturizing! The dry patch of skin that had appeared on my upper lip (as a result of me blowing my nose constantly while I had a cold) completely disappeared. My grandmother commented on how pretty our skin looked the following day. We used two yard eggs and...

Last night I took the most wonderful bath imaginable. Here are the products that made it possible: DayNa Decker Botanika Essence Soak in Ella-I got a free bottle of Essence Soak in the mail recently for the purpose of trying and then reviewing, and I can't even begin to describe how great this stuff smells. It isn't fleeting, either. It's a wonderful, rich, floral, intoxicating, long-lasting scent. I sprinkled about two and a half hands full of this soak into the tub just before getting in. It was probably my favorite part. It makes a fun crackling noise as it hits...

Link to straight up coconut oil

It's winter weather every few days around here and, needless to say, my skin gets pretty dry.  Kirby started using the coconut oil that I used to make deodorant and toothpaste (reviews to come) with, and he mentioned it improving the condition of his hair.  Following my next shower, I covered my body (with the exception of my face, neck, and chest) with it.  Here's what I think: Performance- It makes my skin feel like soft, smooth heaven, and my (perpetually ashy) legs still feel moisturized at the end of the day. Ingredients- It's straight up coconut oil. Price- I can't remember the...
