If the unthinkable happened and I were forced to own only a few personal care products...then I could probably successfully narrow it down to the following:

Baking Soda, Apple Cider Vinegar, Castile Soap, Argan Oil, Coconut Oil, Lavender Essential Oil.

What products can't you live without?

Also, if you haven't entered the mantra perfume giveaway then you probably should. ;...

Caitie's recent November Used It post inspired me to do one of my own. It's my very first, and it's a little late, but here I go anyway.

From Left to Right: Captain Blankenship Mantra Perfume Sample- I ran out of this dreamy sample almost immediately. After Jana heard about how much I liked this particular scent, she kindly offered to send me my own roll-on for free! My Christmas list just got a little shorter. Wash the Day Away Calming Chamomile Facial Elixir- Since...

Cleaning Your Boar Bristle Hairbrush

While typing my recent post about washing my hair less, I learned that boar bristle brushes should be cleaned regularly and thoroughly. I had no idea! Sure, I'd combed the bristles of mine occasionally, but that was about it. I'm not sure why it never occurred to me to give my boar bristle brush a deep cleaning, since a cleaner brush would logically result in cleaner hair. Behaving logically might not be something that comes naturally to me. For those of you who are completely unfamiliar with...

I purchased a bottle of Dr. Bronner's Lavender Coconut Hair Creme around last July, but I guess it got lost in the abyss that is my bathroom cabinet. I ended up giving it to Danielle at some point, and then it really wasn't a concern of mine. I'm not sure what reminded me of it, but here I am with a very late review. Ingredients (provided at drbronner.com)- "Water, Organic Coconut Oil*, Organic Ethanol, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Hemp Oil, Organic Lavender...

Below is my review for one of the two products that Eco Store USA generously sent me. Clementine and Winston both have especially dry and itchy skin during the winter months, so I was hoping that this Hypoallergenic Shampoo would provide them with some relief. As much as I love Dr. Bronner's liquid soap, it has done nothing at all for my winter dry skin. In an attempt to show my skin a little extra love (and since I had just run out of my Dr. Bronner's Almond Liquid Soap) , I bought Burt's Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk and Shea Butter Body Wash. Ingredients (provided at burtsbees.com)- "Water, decyl glucoside, carthamus tinctorius (safflower) oleosomes, sodium cocoyl hydrolyzed soy protein, glycerin, fragrance, coco-glucoside, glyceryl oleate, non-fat dry...

Dr. Bronner sets the bar pretty high when it comes to castile soaps, but I was surprisingly impressed with free sample of Kiss My Face's Castile Peace Soap in Grassy Mint. Ingredients (provided at peacesoap.kissmyface.com)- “Water, Coconut Oil, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Hemp Oil,Xanthan Gum, Spearmint Oil, Natural Fragrance Blend." I couldn't locate this product on the Cosmetic Safety Database. The ingredients look pretty legit, though, other than the "fragrance blend". I'm assuming that means the same thing as fragrance. All of the other ingredients are either a zero or a one. Product Description (also provided at peacesoap.kissmyface.com)- “Enjoy the mild,...

Link to Dr. Bronner’s has changed my feelings toward public restrooms.

I've recently started carrying a travel-size bottle filled with Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Pure-Castile Soap in my purse. I am no longer faced with either having to wash my hands with anti-bacterial sludge (that contains any number of questionable ingredients) or not washing my hands at all. I should've done this months ago; I feel good about life. Annnnd: After I find a job and am making money down here in Lake Charles, I'm going to buy all of the containers and necessary ingredients to create and sell my own line...
