photo credit: Neeta Lind I'm heading back to Lake Charles today, so I don't have much time for a long post..but yesterday I found a pretty sweet list of  7 Homemade Spa Treatments from Holiday Leftovers that I thought you guys might find interesting. A few of them look pretty swell. I'm especially curious about the Homemade Cranberry Lip Gloss and the DIY Pomegranate Body Scrub. The recipe for the...

photo credit: Vanessa Yvonne If someone wanted to buy me soap-making supplies for Christmas, then I certainly wouldn't complain. I even found a website with tons of soap recipes that I can use! Once I get the hang of it, I can give the especially dreamy-smelling ones away as gifts. That would just be the best, wouldn't...

We recently had a get together with Apple Cider and Pumpkin-Carving, and I've been pumped about fall and all things related ever since! It's probably obvious; I look like a giddy child in the picture above. Remember my post about silly animal paintings? Danielle wanted me to paint her two sweet cats, Chowder and Maxine, shortly after we moved into the new house. I tackled the project in my first little bit of free time: Next in line are my friends Taylor (who has an adorable dog named Nellie) and Katie (who owns two beautiful dogs named Sam and Mia). I'm pretty excited; dogs are my favorite. Several health and beauty related posts are on the way, I promise. Between looking for jobs and the frequent trips to target/marshalls/kroger/walmart, I haven't had much spare time for...

I'm just gonna go ahead and warn everyone: this post is about to be a link fest. The pretty glass bottle that my Burt's Bees Vitamin E Body & Bath Oil came in has inspired me to buy more glass bottles for storing homemade health and beauty products. My friend Chuck told me about two really neat websites where I can find glass bottles for next to nothing (SKS Bottle & Packaging, Inc.Sunburst Bottle Company), and I'm pretty pumped about it. The first two projects that I plan to fill some bottles...

Am I an idiot for even considering a DIY Brazilian wax?

Link to Am I an idiot for even considering a DIY Brazilian wax?

I've gotten a Brazilian wax before.  Honestly, I was more annoyed by how expensive it was (around sixty dollars after tip) than how much it hurt. Once the initial swelling and pain subsided, I was very happy with the results. It grew back much more slowly than I anticipated, and that's never a bad thing. It's about time I had it done again, and I've been toying with the idea of doing it myself. Is that ridiculous? Have I lost my mind? I think I need guidance. All I know is that I've got a new bikini and it's the...
