I hadn’t heard of Nourish until recently, but their carefully selected and primarily organic ingredients held my attention once I discovered them. After successfully reaching out to the company about trying their products, I picked the three that first caught my eye (they all looked so dreamy that it could’ve taken hours to decide otherwise). Today I’ll be reviewing the first of those three that I chose—the Fresh Fig Organic Body Lotion.
Ingredients (provided at nourishusda.com)- “Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Organic SDA 38B (Alcohol Denat), Organic Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Organic Theobroma Grandiflorum (Cupuacu) Butter, Glycerin, Organic Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, Organic Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Organic Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Organic Fragrance, Xanthan Gum, Organic Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Oil, Organic Soy Lecithin, Organic Lepidium Meyenii (Maca) Root Extract, Organic Symphytum Officinale (Comfrey) Root Extract, Tocopherol (Vitamin E). ”
The preliminary report that I created for this product in the Cosmetics Database gives it a hazard score of 2. The only individual ingredients with hazard scores above a 2 are lecithin and unspecified oils (which I put in the ingredient list in place of fragrance since Nourish uses “only pure essential oils from organic fruits and botanicals”).
Some great things about this product:
1. It’s free of parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, artificial fragrances or preservatives, silicones, propylene glycol, mineral oils, sulfates, synthetic dyes, triclosan, edta, and aluminum.
2. It’s cruelty-free and vegan.
3. It’s made almost entirely of organic ingredients.
4. It’s gluten-free.
Product Description(provided at nourishusda.com)- “Smooth on this soothing lotion made with organic aloe, rice protein, açai and essential oils, and Vitamin E. As it gently hydrates and soothes away dryness, it also delights the spirit with the enchanting scent of organic fig and apricot.”
Performance– This lotion is both hydrating and skin-softening, and it leaves no greasy residue. It requires minimal drying time (no more than 5 minutes) and isn’t too heavy for the sensitive skin on my chest. What more could I possibly want?
Scent– Warm, fruity, and ridiculously dreamy. It actually does remind me of fresh figs, and it has staying power without being a headache in a bottle.
Rating– 10/10, y’all.
Would I purchase this item again? Of course!
