Alima Pure

Have you heard? Alima Pure just introduced two limited edition holiday collections! Cold Outside features three cool-toned eye shadows and a blush, and Warm Inside features three warm-toned eye shadows and a lovely shimmer powder. While I think warm tones tend to look better with my complexion, I had tons of fun trying out both sets!

Ingredients (provided with product packaging)- Mica (CI 77019). May Contain{+/-}: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510). Nothing more.

The preliminary report that I created in the cosmetics database gives these products a hazard score of 2. None of the individual ingredients have hazard scores above a 2.

Some great things about these products:

1. All of Alima Pure’s products carry the BDIH “Certified Natural Cosmetics” seal, and they’re free of dyes, carmine, unnatural preservatives, and harmful chemicals.

2. These products are cruelty-free.

3. $2 from each Limited Edition Collection purchased will be donated to the Global Fund for Women.

Product Description(provided at alimepure.com)- “Whether you prefer strolling through the snow or snuggling by the fire, Alima Pure has you covered this winter with two collections that can be worn separately or together.

Cold Outside features three cool-toned shadows and a blush.

Snowdrift is an off-white shimmer with a hint of silvery blue.

Snow Angel is a light-to-medium blue with a silver sparkle.

Jack Frost is a deep-blue-toned purple shimmer.

Rosy Cheeks is a gorgeous just-in-from-the-cold matte pink blush.

Warm Inside features three warm-toned shadows and a shimmer powder.

Candlelight is a pale gold shimmer.

Mulled Cider is a medium rose-gold sparkle.

Hot Toddy is a deep, shimmering bronze.

Firelight is a warm gold Luminous Shimmer Powder.”

Price- Each set is $36.

Performance- I applaud and envy those fancy girls who apply eye shadow daily, but I’m usually not one of them. My growing collection of Alima Pure shadows might just change that, though. Each of the six shadows in these two sets are so easy to apply and any mistakes can quickly be reversed with a quick swipe of the fingertips or a damp cotton swab (which is especially important for this klutz). Also, they all have real staying power and can be made as bold or as subtle as desired.  Warm Inside seems like the more practical of the two sets, and I’ll probably be inclined to wear it at least a few days out of the week. Firelight, the luminous shimmer powder that is included with Warm Inside, will definitely become an everyday addition to my makeup routine. It makes my skin glow in a way that is both natural and pretty. Cold Outside was a lot of fun too, but since the colors are so vibrant I’ll probably reserve them for special occasions in the future. I also might try to incorporate some brown with the blue or purple next time, since I think that might be a bit more flattering.

Below, I’m wearing Cold Outside in the first four pictures and Warm Inside in the last four (including my new best friend, Firelight).  I’m wearing rosy cheeks in all eight.  Eight pictures for two sets might seem like overkill, but I thought it might be important/helpful to get two in the sun and two in the shade of each set.

Rating- I’m giving Warm Inside a 10/10 and Cold Outside a 9.5/10, simply because I think the former was a little more flattering.

Would I purchase these items again? Since these collections are limited editions, I probably won’t have the chance. Luckily Alima Pure has plenty of other lovely cosmetics that are sold year-round.
