Reading this article about Cleaning with Herbs & Spices inspired me to finally start making my own dryer sheets and reminded me of a handy little book that was given to me by my good friend Nikki a while back. It’s called Salt, Lemons, Vinegar, and Baking Soda, and it’s filled with natural cleaning and personal care products that contain very few ingredients and can easily be made at home! Here are some that I can’t wait to try:
- All-Natural Fabric Softener- All you need is the juice of 4 lemons, 2 cups of cold water, and 1 teaspoon of baking soda!
- Nail Brightener- This requires a small bowl of lemon juice, 1/4 cup of vinegar, and 1/4 cup of water.
- Natural Flea Spray- To make this spray, simply combine 2 cups of boiling water with 1 lemon that has been cut into several pieces.
- Herbal Hair Rinse- Combine 1 cup of vinegar, 1/2 cup of fresh lavender, and 2 cups of water after allowing the vinegar and lavender to sit for about two weeks and straining through a fine mesh sleeve.
- Fruit and Vegetable Wash- Fill a spray bottle with 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of baking soda, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
As I make and try the above products, I’ll be sure to share with you guys my tips and experiences!
