I tried a new fruity cereal recently, and I might be hooked. Why are cereals made for kids always always the best ones?! I was afraid that almond milk might be too sweet for this fruity treat, but it's a surprisingly delicious combination. That is...

Look at how ugly I am!

My friend Josh made a scary, less attractive version of me, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. It makes me laugh every time I look at it. Does anyone think that this version of me sorta resembles a mixture of Frida Kahlo and Juliette Lewis?

Click the picture to see Josh's entire post. You should definitely check out his other posts too. His talents aren't at all limited to making people hideous.

In other news,...

Link to Mrs. Meyers Geranium Dryer Sheet Review

Since I use unscented detergent, I sometimes feel that my clothes need a hint of fresh scent to remind me that they're clean. I recently bought some Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Geranium Dryer Sheets, and here's what I thought. Ingredients- (provided at mrsmeyers.com)- “Di-(Palm Carboxyethyl) Hydroxyethyl Methlammonium Methyl Sulfate, Palm Fatty Acid, Fragrance, Geranium Maculatum (Geranium) Oil, Rosa Centifolia (Rose) Flower Oil, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Flower Oil ” This product, along with the first ingredient, couldn't be found on the Cosmetic Safety Database, but Mrs. Meyers products that do appear on the site range from a hazard...

Link to Guest Review: Light Mountain Natural Henna

My lovely sister, Danielle, has been coloring her hair with Henna for ages. We recently tried a new brand together, and I urged her to do a guest review since she's been around the block (as far as henna's concerned). She kindly obliged, so here it is: I've been coloring my hair red for couple of years now.  I started out using a bright red temporary foam that was supposed to last 6-8 washes--it ended up lasting six to eight weeks, and I really loved it.  However, I really wasn't too crazy about putting all those chemicals on my head....

I'm not sure if I've discussed this with you guys before, but I am not one of those people who dreads bathing their dogs. I even enjoy it. I enjoy it so much, in fact, that I decided to post about it. My dogs are so cute that you have to be at least a little interested, right? I wish that I could've gotten some pictures of me brushing their teeth; it's quite the experience (which is probably why I have no...

A Healthy Birthday Gift Basket

Link to A Healthy Birthday Gift Basket

Today is my beautiful sister Danielle's birthday, and while I could never top the caring and thoughtful gifts that she gave me for my recent birthday (some lovely handmade pillowcases that she'll be posting about soon)... I still tried to buy her things that she will use and enjoy. One of the health food stores in Lake Charles is going out of business (sadly, it's probably the better of the two that we have), and everything in their store is 45% off! I even got the basket (the one that all the gifts are piled in) from there for...

Link to Care2 has the best articles sometimes.

photo credit: anitakhart I enjoyed this article about healthy veganism, and I thought I'd share it.  Articles like this bring me closer and closer becoming a full-fledged vegan. I'm sure that I'll take the big step soon enough. I'm training at a new job that I just got (at a hibachi restaurant, oh boy!), and I'll probably be pretty busy for the...

Link to Check out vitacost.com, y’all!

I stumbled upon this site today, and I cannot wait to take advantage of some of these deals. Vitacost.com has surprisingly low prices on all kinds of natural health and beauty products. The even have food and herbal teas! The products offered actually remind me  a lot of the healthy food section in my favorite Kroger. Whoa...

Dr. Bronner’s has changed my feelings toward public restrooms.

Link to Dr. Bronner’s has changed my feelings toward public restrooms.

I've recently started carrying a travel-size bottle filled with Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Pure-Castile Soap in my purse. I am no longer faced with either having to wash my hands with anti-bacterial sludge (that contains any number of questionable ingredients) or not washing my hands at all. I should've done this months ago; I feel good about life. Annnnd: After I find a job and am making money down here in Lake Charles, I'm going to buy all of the containers and necessary ingredients to create and sell my own line...
