clown face, y’all

This morning I decided that I needed some red lipstick.

Why:

  • special occasions
  • putting it on and immediately wiping it off can sometimes leave a nice/subtle shade that looks somewhat natural
  • because I can

Consequently (and perhaps unfortunately), I picked up the reddest and cheapest shade I could find at Walmart this evening.

Rimmel Lipstick (shade: Red Hot)

Either this lipstick totally blows, or I just discovered that I have the kind of lips that do not agree with lipstick. Picture a clown’s mouth. There you go.

Also, the color is nothing to write home about. It is a little too orange when applied for my liking.

The bright side:

It was only four dollars, and the put on and wipe off method still works pretty well.

i have a darker red (it almost looked brown in the tube) in rimmel i bought for a costume. it was not the right shade for the costume, but it is a more true red. we should both wear red lipstick next time we hang out.

What a great idea! I’ll try to find a better shade first.

p.s. Does yours smell really pleasant? I forgot to mention it in the post, but mine smells like coconuts for real.
